Mark James's 1956 Studebaker Golden Hawk Wins Again at the 22nd Greenwich Concours d'Elegance!
Saturday, June 2 dawned cool and rainy in Greenwich, Connecticut for the 22nd Annual Greenwich Concours d'Elegance. By late morning, however, the skies cleared and the crowds came out to admire the cars on the shore of Long Island Sound. There were eleven cars in Mark's class, including two other Studebakers. 1955 Studebaker President Speedster Wins Best in Class at the 5th Annual Pinehurst Concours d'Elegance
Saturday, May 6, was the inaugural public showing of Mark's 1955 President Speedster (after its 2,500-hour full restoration) and the reception by both the Concours judges and the public was overwhelming. The car is painted the same Shasta White with Pimlico Gray accent colors that it wore the day it left the factory in Los Angeles in June, 1955. 1958 Golden Hawk Selected as a Finalist for the AACA's Highest Award
In an inaugural event sponsored by the Antique Automobile Club of America (AACA), Mark James’ 1958 Golden Hawk is one of only 20 cars selected as finalists for the AACA Zenith Award. The final judging will take place at the 2017 AACA Annual Grand National Meet held near Kansas City, Mo. on June 16 and 17. The 20 finalists were chosen by a special team of judges from the approximately 3600 automobiles shown at AACA meets throughout the US during 2016. The twenty cars will be on display at the Silverstein Eye Centers Arena in Independence, Mo., one of the venues for the National Meet. The cars will be judged during this event and one of the twenty will receive the very first Zenith Award! The award presentation will take place the afternoon of June 16.

Mark James Is Invited to Attend One of the Top Concours in the U.S.
In an invitation letter signed by the Car Selection Chairman for the Concours d'Elegance of America, Mark James received an invitation for his 1956 Studebaker Golden Hawk Coupe to participate in the 39th Annual Concours d'Elegance of America. This Concours will take place at the Inn at St. John's in Plymouth, Michigan, on July 28-30, hosting over 300 outstanding and historically relevant vehicles.
